4 months and 3.5 weeks ...

Hello all!
Although this is Friday and I should have posted on Monday, I have a good excuse, I started back teaching at SBCC this week! ...And I honestly don't know how parents who work full time do it! I am just working part-time. The great thing is that most of my classes are online - which means I work when Olivia goes nighty-night, around 8pm (not so great if Olivia does not sleep;)). Then I have one class face to face on Fridays. So Kevin just watches Olivia while I head to the classroom. Still, I am trying to get in the groove..... Deep breathes..... :)

Lots to report though as our little girl is developing oh so quickly AND yes, of course we think she is the SMARTEST GIRL ever! So here is the scoop: Olivia is now officially rolling from her back to her belly. You go Olivia! So as I am sure you can imagine, playtime is oh-so lively now. Although she is not signing back to me yet, I have been reading, learning and practicing baby sign language with her. We even go to a baby signing, singing and development class on Tuesdays in the morning where we practice these skills. FUN! Olivia is a better sleeper too! She is now napping about 3, 1 hour naps a day and is sleeping til 4:30am and going back to sleep for another 2 1/2 to 3 hours before she starts her day (much better than last weeks report of her getting up and staying up at 4:30am - ouch).

Every day is even brighter with little Miss O. She is truly our blessing and can't wait to see what she does next.

Til next blog,

Love and well wishes, The Moore Family

4 months and 2 weeks :)

Ok.... Really, life just goes by so fast with Olivia.

This week our picture was taken on Monday, or MLK day. Given that President Obama called us all to a day of service my mama group decided to do a beach clean up...... so below you will see myself and Olivia (Olivia is all bundled up in my turquoise wrap). Pretty cool that she is already into helping out! :)

Other news this week is that Olivia a hoot to be around. She is smiling up a storm and she simply cracks us up all the time. When she sneezes she lets out a big "ahhhhh" afterward. At dinner time she has been oh so pleasant and is now trying to grab things, like my hair, my fork, etc. She is also successful at rolling from side to side and when I put her on her stomach she can roll to her back (with much effort and grunting). She loves the water! I know I featured her bath time photos last week, but I just have to share that when I say "kick, kick, kick" she does exactly that. I know.... she is smarty ;) The only not-so-fun thing that Olivia has decided she likes to do is that she now wakes up at 4 or 4:30pm and decides that that is it... she does not want to go back to sleep and simply wants to be entertained by her mama (fun). She smiles and coo's and giggles and puts her feet in the air and rolls around (between 4 and 7am)... so any suggestions any of you might have would be welcomed. :)

Tis all for now.... I am off to get some sleep before our bundle of love wakes up and wants me to play :)

Week 18 or 4 months and 1 week! WOW!

Hello dearest friends and family!

Can you believe our little bundle of love is now 4 months old and 1 week? WOW! Where does the time go? So to showcase our little love we thought we would show you Olivia getting ready for bath time. She loves the bath water and frankly loves being naked. She kicks and smiles and waves her arms. So fun!

Other than bath time, it has been great to see Olivia develop more of who she is! Emma goes to a mama/baby group once a week called mamatoto. The attachment parenting group also has weekly walks and other activities for mamas and babies.

Last week, Olivia attended her first music class at Yellow Bird Music with Alex. Not only did OIivia have a blast, Emma found that it was a pleasant surprise to see many familiar faces that she already knew.

This weekend we are heading back to Cayucos so that Olivia can visit with Grandma and Grandpa Rollin. We are looking forward to another little getaway!

Until next blog!

Week 17 ... Happy New Year!

Emma and Olivia hiking in Cayucos

Olivia is wearing "Early Hurley"

The holiday season has also meant lots of travel. Even though we just arrived home from Emma's parents house and celebrated X-mas with the Moores, we found ourselves traveling again in a couple of days. This past week we spent our time in Cayucos in honor of the New Years week and weekend. We had a fabulous time and our highlight was that Emma's brother Donny and his family also visited so that means Olivia was able to have more time with her cousins! It was so neat to see her interact with her cousins. Every time they would play with her Olivia would get really excited and try to talk with them - too cute! So the pics above are from our travels in Cayucos.

Until next blog!
