Hello dearest family and friends,
I can't believe the last time we blogged here, Olivia was just 6 months (We will try to be better about this. To be honest, I am going to blame it on Facebook, as I have spent more time updating that then our blog, shame, shame.). This week, on the 8th of April little Miss Olivia turns 7 months as we have A LOT to report. First, she is now "scooting." This means that she is not quite crawling, crawling but that she essentially drags her body across the floor to get what and where she wants. It is definitely a sight to see! :)
Regarding food. Well, she loves solid food now and thanks to Grandma Carol we now have the means to make our own organic baby food. That is right, we are the proud owners of Bebacook, the French baby food maker that is a steamer, blender, warmer and defroster. This little gizmo allows us to prepare fresh, healthy meals for Olivia. Thus, so far, everything that we have given Olivia to eat has been that of which we have prepared from scratch. Neat. What is more, Olivia can now "open wide" when we ask her to! Bring on the peas, bananas, sweet potatoes, apples, pears and zuchinni (so far what she has eaten and liked - ok, yes, zucchini was a stretch but she did eat a couple of bites before refusing.)
In addition to solids, Olivia simply thinks that water, yes, H20 is the best thing ever since sliced bread (she can even blow bubbles with her water - not that we want to condone this but it is funny). Oh... that and bananas. In fact, when you give her either, she smiles and kicks her feet. It truly is a sight to see.
Another little development that is kinda funny, is that she now krinkles her nose when she looks at you. We don't know why... she just seems to do this.
Moving on from Olivia's developments to just the past months happenings, really, over the course of the month we have traveled to Cayucos as well as Burrel to see the Rollin clan and each weekend when we have not been out of town we have enjoyed our time with our family in SB, the Moore's. We have come to the conclusion this it truly is a blessing for both of our families to live in California so that Olivia can see everyone and that we are especially lucky to have the Moore Family in SB with us as Olivia gets to visit regularly with grandma, grandpa and her aunt!
So, other than scooting and eating and smiling, Olivia is still a yogi and swim queen. We are enjoying every second of her and can't wait for her next little development.
This past weekend Kevin was a champ and built a salad table so that we could start our garden outside again. So over the course of the week I will be planting arugula, spinach, butter leaf lettuce, basil and parsley for starters. We will also be planting tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, eggplant and green beans. We think that it will be great for Olivia to see all of the action outside as we grow our food.
Well, tis all for now... until next blog. We have much to be thankful for.
