At age two Olivia is quite the outdoorsy person! She loves to go to Rocky Nook Park and follow the trail head to the creek and jump right in. On this particular day, she decided to off road it (and so did Astro... if you look closely you can see his back side in the distance)!

As you can see... Olivia is a happy camper when she is around horses! Her cousin Siena is into horseback riding and so we reap the benefits every time we head to my parents home as we wake up each morning with Olivia asking to see the cows and feed the horses carrots! In May, when we visited for Spring Festival, another "first" for Olivia was going on a quad ride with cousin Westin! She took the ride very serious, but as soon as I picked her up and asked her if she had fun she shouted "YEAH". The rest of the day she shouted "moto" :) Good times!

The first weekend in May we ventured to my home town for the Riverdale Spring Festival.Picture this. So now Olivia knows what a cow looks like up close. On a recent trip home to the dairy she wanted to feed a few herself, she found that if she stood very still the cows would come up to her and eat from her hand!

This year Halloween really felt like a week long event! We had parties, pumpkin patches, a music class to attend (see previous posts), all with the theme of dressing up in honor of Halloween. This past week we celebrated Halloween at Yellowbird Music too!Alex, our teacher and proprietor of Yellow Bird decorated her space so fabulously! On Monday we went to the Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch to meet up with our toto friends. Of course, Little O dressed up! This past Sunday we took Olivia to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art for family day. In honor of Dia de Los Muertos the entire family day catered to the holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1st. There was story telling in english and spanish. This past Friday we met our mamatoto friends (Carrie and Brody, Alicia and Cash) at the SB Zoo! We decided to rent a wagon and take our totos for a ride! Olivia loved the flamingos and penquins, however, the gorilla exhibit stole the show! Kimu, one of the bachelor gorillas actually came right up to glass to take a peek at our totos. As you can see by the photos, it really was a close encounter!

This past weekend I ran my first running race since Olivia was born! As many of you know, I am training a group of my mamas from my mama group to run the first ever SB Marathon. Olivia, myself and some of our mamatoto friends had a BLAST at the Dia de Los Muertos festival this past Sunday at Casa de la Guerra. The festival was a fundraiser for the Ceasar Chavez Charter School in SB. The entire event was amazing. Right now, I am training some of my mamatoto friends to complete the first ever SB Marathon. They will all be running the marathon as part of two relay teams (so instead of 26.2 miles we each run any where between 5 to 8.5miles). Every year, the first weekend of October marks the Caruthers Fair. . As a kid, I use to show my animals (mainly my brown swiss cow) there and enter baking contests (blue ribbon for my lemon bars:) ), etc. To me, what is so amazing about the Caruthers Fair is that it is still a free gate fair, meaning, it is free to enter. On Monday we went to our first "Toddler Times" with Laura Sobel offered through Adult Ed. It was AWESOME. Well, if you remember a post a while back, Grandma C took Olivia to the Butterflies Alive exhibit at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History in May. Ashton, another one of our mamatoto friends celebrated his birthday party the day before our birthday bash for Olivia (Ashton and Olivia are 8 hours apart with Ashton being the elder). Labor Day Weekend we took the family (ok, it was just Olivia, Kevin and myself, no Astro) to Cayucos.
